Henry Hudson Elementary is celebrating its Centennial on June 21, 2012. Catherine is working with the children to produce a CD of music from 1912 to 2012. Eight songs have been recorded with twelve more on the way.
Children's voices in Modern Music. Catherine was asked last summer to sample children's voices for Ryan Stinson. A select group of the Hudson Choir were chosen. Partial proceeds of download fees go to the Hudson Elementary Choir.Catherine leads choirs at Henry Hudson Elementary, Trafalgar Elementary and Queen Elizabeth Annex.
Catherine is also a choral director at the Vancouver Bach Children's Chorus.
Ms. Catherine Campolin has been heard by audiences across Canada. She has worked with Opera In Concert in Toronto as well as Toronto Opera Repertoire. She has been heard in Dawson Creek, B.C. with the Dawson Creek Symphonette. She has sung in the NUOVA program in Edmonton and had performed as a recital artist and as an operatic soprano in Victoria, B.C.
At home in Vancouver, Catherine Campolin debuted and recorded the role of The Woman in Modern Baroque Opera's production of Powers of Two by local composer Barry Truax. She has also worked with members of the Vancouver Symphony Orchestra and has been seen in numerous productions with the Vancouver Academy of Music Opera Studio. Some of her performed roles include: Olympia in The Tales of Hoffmann, Amelia in Amelia Goes to the Ball, Countess Almaviva in The Marriage of Figaro, Violetta in La Traviata and Lucia in Lucia di Lammermoor.
Catherine Campolin sang in several concerts for the Victoria Conservatory of Music, she also participated in Vancouver Opera's productions of Turandot and Macbeth. Catherine Campolin was very happy to make her debut with Burnaby Lyric Opera in their production of The Merry Widow.
